MANIFESTO // 002

We are not pitching panels. We are teaching you how to close a $30,000 conversation on a front porch.

— On the YNR solar sales program.
WHY YNR // SOLAR SALES

The D2D vertical with the highest commission per close.

  • 01

    $2,000–$8,000 per month — commission-driven.

Solar is the highest per-close commission on the YNR roster. A single solar install generates more commission than a week of pest accounts. Reps who run a full week and close two to three deals are already in the top quartile of most sales jobs in America. The ceiling exists only at the limit of your close rate and territory size.

  • 02

Training that covers the full sales cycle.

Solar closes are not one-conversation deals. YNR training covers the full residential sales cycle: the knock, the opener, the utility bill review, the savings projection, the objection loop, and the close. Every phase is scripted, drilled via AI agent, and reviewed in live field rides before you carry a territory solo.

  • 03

    Territory with genuine buying demand.

YNR assigns solar reps to territories with confirmed high electricity rates, tax incentive eligibility, and homeowner demographics that match buying profiles. You are not guessing at who might convert — you are knocking in a neighborhood where the financial case for solar is already strong.

  • 04

A product that sells itself to the right prospect.

Homeowners paying high monthly utility bills understand the value of locking in a fixed solar payment that is lower than their current electric bill. The pitch is arithmetic, not persuasion. Your job is to find the right homeowner and walk them through the numbers — the product does the closing once the numbers land.

PROGRAMS // SOLAR SALES

Where solar sales leads inside YNR.

Solar is one of seven verticals in the YNR system — and it is the one with the highest per-close commission. Reps who close solar well often move into high ticket closing, where the same conversational DNA applies to a fully remote setting.

  • I.

    Residential Solar Rep

Door-to-door residential canvassing with a full-cycle close. Commission per funded install — typically $1,000–$3,000 per deal depending on system size. Reps who close two to three per week clear $2,000–$9,000 per month consistently.

  • II.

    Setter Role (Lead Generation)

For reps who want to earn while they ramp the full close, a setter role places you as the appointment generator for a closer team. You earn per qualified appointment set — a lower-risk entry point that still generates $1,500–$3,000 per month while you develop the closing skill.

  • III.

    Team Lead / Manager Track

Solar managers who build and lead a canvassing team earn override on every install the team closes. A five-rep team at average production puts the manager well past $15,000 per month in total comp — making solar management one of the highest-comp roles on the YNR roster.

  • IV.

    High Ticket Closing (Remote)

The objection-handling and consultative close skills from solar translate directly to remote high ticket closing. YNR solar reps with a proven track record have an accelerated path into the high ticket program — warm inbound leads, 10–15% commission, and a fully remote setup.

FAQ // SOLAR SALES JOBS

Common solar sales questions.

How much do solar sales reps earn per month?
YNR solar sales reps typically earn $2,000–$8,000 per month in commissions, depending on territory, close rate, and system size. The per-install commission ranges from $1,000 to $3,000. Reps who are closing two to three deals per week — which is achievable after a proper training ramp — are at the upper end of that range. The ceiling is significantly higher for reps who transition into a team lead role.
Do I need to know anything about solar panels to sell solar?
No. YNR training covers everything you need: how solar systems work at a conversational level, how to run a utility bill comparison, how to present a savings estimate, and how to handle the most common objections (cost, roof condition, HOA restrictions). You do not need engineering knowledge — you need to be able to explain why the math works for the homeowner in front of you.
How long does it take to close a solar sale?
Most residential solar closes take one to three visits. The initial conversation on the door sets up an in-home appointment where you walk through the full proposal. From first knock to signed contract is typically one to two weeks. Your commission vests when the install is funded, not on the signature date — usually 30 to 60 days after signing.
What territories do YNR solar reps work in?
YNR assigns solar reps to territories with high electricity rates, strong state and federal incentive programs, and homeowner demographics that match buying profiles. Currently active markets include the Southeast, Southwest, Mountain West, and Mid-Atlantic — states where solar ROI is demonstrably strong for homeowners.
Can I do solar sales without relocating?
Depending on your location, you may be placed into a territory within commuting distance. For reps in areas without active solar programs, YNR can discuss relocation support. Remote solar programs (telephone- and video-based) are also available for reps who want to sell without field canvassing.
What happens if I cannot close at first?
The solar ramp period is typically four to eight weeks — longer than pest or fiber because the sales cycle is longer and the conversational complexity is higher. YNR provides daily manager support and AI-coached drill sessions during the ramp period. Reps who hit their first close almost always report that the training was what got them there.
